Xiaomi Auto’s European launch is planned for 2027

Xiaomi has officially named 2027 as its European entry timeframe. Its 3 September 2026 IFA announcement and international Auto website agree on that year. This is a manufacturer-announced expansion plan, rather than a delivery appointment or an open European order book.

For buyers following Xiaomi cars from outside China, the useful distinction is between a brand launch, a national specification announcement, orders opening and customer handovers. Those events need not happen together. A car displayed in Europe does not establish all four milestones.

Which countries are confirmed?

Germany is specifically named. Xiaomi refers to other European markets but does not provide a complete country-by-country timetable in the official documents reviewed. The German dealer preparations make that market more concrete than a general reference to Europe.

Europe is not a single retail offer. National taxes, trim structures, distribution and service arrangements matter to the final purchase. Buyers outside Germany should wait for an announcement covering their own country, rather than interpreting the German network as confirmation of local availability.

What is confirmed for France?

No French launch date, local price list or French model range was identified in the official sources checked on 7 September 2026. That does not rule France out; it leaves the question unanswered.

For a buyer considering an independently imported Chinese-market car, the important distinction is the seller and support arrangement. An independent listing does not establish an official Xiaomi France launch. Neither does the presence of Xiaomi phone shops or a promotional vehicle at an event.

“Xiaomi Auto plans a European launch in 2027” is supported. “The Xiaomi SU7 will be sold in France in 2027” adds a model and a national launch commitment that the reviewed announcements do not establish.

Which Xiaomi models could come to Europe?

Xiaomi’s official company history identifies the SU7 sedan and YU7 SUV, while the Auto website prominently features SU7 and SU7 Ultra imagery. These references explain the brand’s existing products. They are not a confirmed European retail selection.

Xiaomi SU7: a displayed sedan, not a European order confirmation

The SU7 is central to Xiaomi’s automotive identity. Its presence on an international website makes it relevant to European readers, but its European sales specification and French availability remain unconfirmed. Xiaomi explicitly states that the SU7 is not currently for sale outside China and is shown for promotional purposes.

Xiaomi SU7 Ultra: performance positioning does not establish local availability

The SU7 Ultra is the performance-focused member of the family. It carries the same international sales disclaimer. The production car must also be distinguished from the SU7 Ultra Prototype: a prototype demonstration or track achievement does not establish the specification of a car offered to European customers.

Status: promoted internationally, not confirmed as an orderable European model in the reviewed sources. We do not attach a European price, WLTP range or delivery month to it.

Xiaomi YU7: an existing SUV with an unconfirmed European future

The YU7 is Xiaomi’s electric SUV. Its body style makes it a relevant product to watch, but commercial relevance is an editorial judgement, not evidence of a launch decision. No European YU7 sales date is established by the announcements reviewed as of 7 September 2026.

The IFA release also names the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo concept as part of the displayed ecosystem. A concept, a promotional production car and a locally orderable car are different things. We do not infer a European launch sequence from the show display.

What will Xiaomi cars cost in Europe?

No official European SU7 price or complete Xiaomi Auto price list was identified on 7 September 2026. There is consequently no verified starting price for France, Germany or the whole of Europe to place in a buying comparison.

Currency conversion answers a limited question: what a sum denominated in yuan is worth in euros. It does not establish the retail price of a locally specified vehicle, including the relevant taxes, equipment and support. We have therefore left the European price unknown instead of giving a converted number the appearance of a quote.

When prices are announced, useful comparisons will state the country, date, trim, tax treatment and conditions. A monthly finance payment will also need to be separated from the cash purchase price.

European dealerships and after-sales service

Xiaomi’s IFA release lists eight German groups signing memoranda of understanding: Ernst Dello, Autohaus Dinnebier, Emil Frey Germany, Fett & Wirtz, Hahn Automobile, LUEG Mobility, Penske-Jacobs Innovation and SPT Avior. Xiaomi describes this as preparation for retail and service coverage.

MoUs are a preparatory milestone, not a directory of open dealerships. Final locations, service availability, parts arrangements and European warranty terms still need to be documented for customers. A German partner announcement does not establish a French repair network.

The practical test is straightforward: a buyer should be able to identify the workshop responsible for the car, the terms of assistance and the process for obtaining parts. Those details belong in a purchase decision alongside charging and range.

European adaptation and type approval

Xiaomi describes its European R&D and Design Center as contributing to local-market adaptation, including roads, user needs and regulations. Its IFA announcement locates the centre in Munich. That is evidence of European development activity, not proof that every advertised model has completed European type approval.

The reviewed sources do not provide a published European approval specification defining the future sales range. We are therefore waiting for local WLTP figures, charging specifications, assistance-system availability and connected-service details before treating any Chinese-market specification as a European buying fact.

Readers should also avoid comparing a range claim from a different test cycle directly with a European WLTP figure. The exact variant matters as much as the brand or model name.

Why Xiaomi’s entry matters to European EV buyers

Xiaomi’s connected-device ecosystem gives the launch a wider context than one sedan. The buyer-facing question is whether the phone, car and connected-home experience translates into dependable local functions: navigation, access, applications, updates and support.

Our assessment framework is deliberately practical: local vehicle specification, a comparable national price and accessible after-sales service. Without those, claims about European value or ownership quality would run ahead of the evidence. We have not tested those experiences in a Xiaomi car.

What will change this dossier?
