Electric Cars: New Chinese EVs and European Launches
Le Tech editorial illustration — generic vehicle, not a road test.
An EV announcement is only the beginning: which version will reach your country, at what price, and with what charging capabilities? Le Tech is extending its electric mobility coverage to cars, with a focus on Chinese EVs and European launches. We also cover selected plug-in hybrids, such as the Zeekr 9X Super Hybrid, with their powertrain type clearly identified. Electric scooters remain our established speciality and central to our testing and advice.
Our coverage separates source-based analysis from cars physically tested by Le Tech. Manufacturer claims will always be identified, and a European announcement will not be treated as confirmation for every national market.

Which specification has actually been announced? We will identify the version and intended market, then distinguish known details from unanswered questions.
Chinese EV brands
Our dossiers distinguish Xiaomi Auto’s European plans, the announced Li Auto Li 6 (i6) launch and the Geely E2 now sold in France. BYD and XPENG are also on our watchlist; that alone does not confirm availability in your country.
European launches
Reveal, approval, orders and customer deliveries are different milestones. Country-level availability, including France, will be tracked separately from broader European plans.

How to assess prices, range and charging claims
Topic
What to look for
Price
Market, currency, trim, taxes and offer conditions. A Chinese domestic price is not a European retail quote.
Range
The test cycle, vehicle version, stated conditions and source. Manufacturer figures will be kept separate from any future Le Tech measurements.
Battery and charging
Stated or usable capacity, AC/DC charging, charge window and the conditions behind the quoted time. Peak power alone does not describe a charging session.
Availability
Country-specific dates and status, with France distinguished from other European markets. Missing information will be labelled as unannounced.
Comparisons
Comparable versions, markets and measurement methods, with clear limits where only documentary evidence is available.
Evidence you can trace
Confirmed
Supported by an identifiable source, with a verification date and a clearly defined scope.
Probable or speculative
An explicitly labelled inference or unconfirmed report, with its origin and remaining uncertainties.
Measured by Le Tech
Reserved for physical testing, with the exact version, test procedure and conditions disclosed.

Future Le Tech road tests
Le Tech has not driven a Xiaomi car, the Li Auto Li 6 (i6), the Geely E2 or the Zeekr 9X for these dossiers. They are source-based analyses with manufacturer figures and limitations clearly identified. A road-test section will follow only after physical testing, with the version and procedure disclosed.
