What is happening in France on 15 September?

GAC France announces a French preview of the AION UT and AION V at the Fleet & Mobility Day on 15 September 2026. The organizer confirms ParisLongchamp as the venue for this professional fleet and mobility event. The announcement puts both cars in front of a French business audience ahead of retail launch.

A preview is a presentation milestone. It does not establish that orders are open or that customers can already take delivery. This dossier uses the announcement as its starting point and will follow the French commercial information as it becomes available.

GAC France: a confirmed market entry

GAC is the automotive group; AION is the electric-car brand under which the two models are being introduced. GAC France, also identified as GAC International France, says it was created in 2026 and will begin operations in the second half of the year. Its official communication names both models and a distribution network covering sales and after-sales.

That gives this launch a country-level basis. The official French website provides a local reference point, while the phrase “very soon” used by GAC France still leaves exact retail dates open.

The two planned models: AION UT and AION V

The UT is a compact electric hatchback, approximately 4.27 metres long. The V is a larger electric SUV, 4.605 metres long. Both are announced for France, but the figures below describe the published European specification. A model’s French launch does not automatically confirm every European trim or option.

Read the AION V European specification and AION UT European launch release for the original figures. LFP denotes lithium iron phosphate battery chemistry. WLTP is a standardized range figure; no CLTC figure has been converted into WLTP here.

AION V: verified European data

The published battery capacity is 75.26 kWh, with LFP chemistry. The motor develops 150 kW, or 204 metric horsepower, and the quoted range reaches 510 km WLTP. GAC lists a DC charging peak of 180 kW and approximately 24 minutes for 10–80%. The French website’s technical table corroborates these core figures.

A charging peak is not a sustained average: the 24-minute claim depends on suitable conditions. Nor does 510 km WLTP promise the same distance on a cold motorway journey. Le Tech has no driving or charging measurements for this car. The French commercial range, equipment packages and prices still need their own release.

AION UT: verified European data

The 28 May European launch release specifies a 60 kWh LFP battery, 150 kW motor, up to 430 km WLTP and a length of 4,270 mm. These figures help establish the UT’s size and range without importing specifications from a different market. They remain European reference data until final French specifications identify the versions offered locally.

Why the UT charging duration is absent from the table

GAC’s May release quotes 30–80% in 24 minutes. A later GAC Europe article dated 24 June 2026 gives about 34 minutes: its overview table labels that interval 30–80%, while its question-and-answer text says 10–80%. There is therefore a discrepancy in both duration and charge window.

We cannot determine from these pages whether this reflects different conditions, versions or an editorial error. No UT charging duration is selected for the main table. A definitive French technical sheet or an explicit manufacturer correction is needed.

European design and assembly: Milan and Magna Graz

The UT was designed by GAC’s Milan team. GAC confirms its Austrian production started on 18 March 2026. The V was already in series production at Graz when Magna announced the assembly program on 21 November 2025.

Magna Steyr provides a European assembly location for both cars. This establishes an industrial operation, without proving that every component originates in Europe, that every European vehicle has the same origin, or that customer deliveries have started in France.

French prices and orders: what remains unknown

AION UT French price: not announced as of this update. AION V French price: not announced as of this update. Exact order-opening and first-delivery dates are also unannounced. “Very soon” is the brand’s launch wording, not a dated purchase commitment.

There is no French price estimate in this dossier. Currency conversions, foreign retail prices or promotional offers cannot establish a French quote. Local trims, discounts, incentives and contractual warranty terms need French commercial documents before they can be included reliably.

Dealers and after-sales: confirmed in principle

GAC France announces distribution covering sales and after-sales. The full French dealer list, number of outlets and opening dates remain unannounced in the reviewed sources. For a nearby GAC dealer, use the official French site as the starting point and verify that the location handles the required model and service.

For an individual buyer or fleet manager, the useful next details are the nearest authorized workshop, maintenance arrangements, parts availability and written delivery commitments. European assembly alone does not answer these local service questions.

Ecological bonus and environmental score: no assumption

French incentive eligibility and the environmental score have not been confirmed in the sources reviewed. This dossier treats them as unknown and deducts no hypothetical assistance from a price. Assembly in Austria is not used as proof of eligibility. Any later update will need official confirmation for the relevant French version.

Why this entry matters alongside BYD, MG, Geely and Leapmotor

The useful angle is the combination of two different car sizes, an Austrian assembly operation and an announced French service structure. That makes GAC relevant to the discussion around BYD, MG, Geely and Leapmotor without providing enough evidence for a value-for-money ranking. French pricing and accessible service will determine much of the practical proposition.

The Geely E2 dossier shows why local specifications and prices matter for a compact EV. For the wider arrival calendar, see Xiaomi Auto’s European plans for 2027. The Zeekr 9X and Li Auto Li 6 (i6) dossiers cover other products and different launch stages; they are context, not like-for-like alternatives. The Auto hub brings this coverage together.

Le Tech methodology: source-based analysis

This dossier separates French announcements, European manufacturer specifications and unknown commercial details. Sources were reviewed on 15 September 2026. Recent GAC France posts were accessible through the search index; direct LinkedIn access was limited. The event organizer is used only for the date and venue. Magna’s release corroborates industrial assembly.

Le Tech has not driven these cars. No claim is made about measured range, comfort, charging performance or service quality. This page will be updated when French price lists, order dates, dealer details and a definitive UT charging specification are published. Publication and substantive revision dates are shown at the top.
